Dragonfly and Damselfly
Class:- Odonata
Odon means"toothed"
Description: Dragonfly or Damselfly their body is in 3 mejor segment, 1) Head, 2) Thorax 3) Abdomen. These are medium to large size insects, with actractive colour. They are having petiolate neck(narrow and short neck) . Eyes of Odonatas are compound eyes, and mouth part having mandibles for biting. Wings are equal or subequal having vaination which can be observes by nacked eyes and these wings are non foldable. Legs of them are streight towards front which helps them to hold prey even can be seemed they are catching prey on air and while sitting some of their legs are helping to hold landing ground and front legs helping to catch and carry the prey till mandibles. Adult Dragonfly or Damselfly are good prediator specially helps to control mosquitoes.
We can see incomplete metamorphosis adults lay eggs in water, larvae also get evolves in water after a time being gets out from water and become a colourfull Dragonfly. Male of them are more colourfull compare to females, as well as their colour their matting is also very interesting. At first male choose some patch of a waterbody where they can hunt some insects, also can be niticed they are chasing out their rivals to protect the patch, when a female get actracted then they form matting Pair which looks like symbol of "♥ ".
